Carol's Boston record and her Pep Electrolytes routine

Carol's Boston record and her Pep Electrolytes routine

On April 20th, 2026, a runner from Sandpoint, Idaho Carol Wright (84), was the oldest person to finish the famed Boston Marathon.

She cruised to the finish line in 5 hrs 44 minutes and 39 seconds and became one of the oldest people to ever finish the race. (In 2018, Katherine Beiers finished at age 85, and in 2019 Larry Cole finished also at age 85).

Carol is currently training for the Livingston Marathon in Montana on August 15th to secure a qualifying time for the 2027 Boston Marathon.

Carol's training and racing nutrition is highly specialized to fit her specific dietary needs.

For her daily hydration needs, she relies on Pep Lemon Electrolytes. Her hydration routine looks like this:

  • Fill the 32oz bottle that Carols is holding in the photo above TWICE a day
  • Put 1 tsp of Pep Lemon High Magnesium Daily Wellness Electrolytes per bottle
  • Sip throughout the day and finish the second bottle by dinner
  • Carol enjoys the Lemon electrolytes cold, as well as hot!

Carol touts the Pep electrolyte benefits superior to the many other options she tried. The balanced real-food formula relies on Organic Coconut Water for Potassium, Marine minerals for Magnesium and Calcium, and Himalayan Pink Salt for a hint of Sodium. The flavor comes exclusively from Organic Lemon Juice powder.

These natural real-food sources and a balanced ratio of all essential electrolytes mean that the powder is gentle on the body and digestion, while providing improved daily hydration benefits.

Many electrolyte powders are very high in Sodium and Potassium. This can make them an excellent source of replenishment for hard workouts when sweating is abundant. But in daily hydration, kidneys have to work over-time to filter out the unnecessary electrolytes that your body doesn't need.

Pep Lemon Daily Electrolytes are formulated to improve daily hydration, without any unnecessary load on the body.
