General guidelines:

Consume Pep powders as you would any other sports powder designed to fuel your activity with Carbohydrates and Electrolytes.

For low intensity efforts: 1-2 scoops per hour of activity. We recommend TRAIN Pep powders.

For high intensity efforts: 2-4 scoops per hour of activity. We recommend RACE Pep powders.

You can use Pep powder to make a drink in your water bottle, or use our Pep pouches to create a gel.

How to use your Pep Pouch (for Drink or Gel)

Shelf-life, Storage and When to make your Pep

  • Once you make your Pep as a Drink or Gel, it should be consumed within 12 hours -- THIS IS IN HOT CONDITIONS! (Think running on a summer day with direct sun exposure.)

  • Pep can be stored in Refrigerator for 3-4 days. We like to prepare our Pep nutrition the night before an outdoor adventure, then put it in the fridge and grab it in the morning.

  • Pep FREEZES very well. On busy weeks, we like to make a big batch of Pep gel and have at least 10 full Pep pouches in the freezer that we can grab any time we're running out the door. Frozen gels thaw quickly, generally within 20-30 minutes in your pocket.

  • Dry Pep powder has a minimum 12-month shelf-life from when you receive it. Exact Best-by date is printed on the bag.

How to dispose of empty Pep bags

All Pep bags (including both white bags and clear sample baggies) are BPI-certified for industrial composting!

1) Remove the adhesive label sticker (currently non-compostable) from the bag.

2) Dispose of the bag in your city’s yard waste bin. Place the label sticker in the trash.

--------------

If your city does not offer a yard waste program or industrial composting facility, please dispose of all Pep packaging in the trash.

While industrial composting is the ideal destination for a Pep bag, even when disposed of in the trash, you can feel confident knowing no petroleum-based plastics were used in its production. Pep bags are made in the USA from allergen-free, GMO-free, renewable wood cellulose.

Reusable Pep POUCHES are made from traditional plastic. Once a Pep pouch has served its purpose—saving hundreds of gel wrappers—please dispose of it in the trash.
