Wy'east 50M on Mt. Hood: Carbs and fueling

Gorgeous course and fantastic venue! So fun to share the adventure w/ the hometown crew who all crushed their races!!
- 11 Pep pouches w/90g Carbs and 1400mg Sodium each
- + 180g Carbs from Pep powder in flasks
- + 2 Neversecond gels from an aid station (60g Carbs) because I ran out of Pep pouches before refilling at Aid Station drop bag
- I enjoyed the Neversecond gels and they played along well with Pep
- That's 107g carbs/hr for 11.5hrs

- Carried 4-5 Pep pouches with me and grabbed another 4-5 at each of the 2 drop bag aid stations.
- Had all nutrition and electrolytes in Pep pouches, so only had to fill flasks with water at aid stations. That worked super well
- Fell off the full-tilt fueling band wagon in the last 7 miles. Mainly I just forgot because I thought the 7 miles would take way less time.
- That was a mistake, definitely started to feel bonky. Never stop fueling until you reach the finish!
- No cramps, fueling felt dialed. Extra grateful for a quality bowl movement post-race.
